Preparing for Your Appointment
To ensure the highest quality results and a smooth healing process, please carefully review the following preparation guidelines prior to your permanent makeup appointment.
Before Your Appointment
• Avoid alcohol and caffeine for 24 hours prior to your appointment
• Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements (if medically safe) for 24–48 hours
• Discontinue use of retinol, exfoliants, acids, or active skincare on the treatment area for 7 days
• Do not wax, thread, tint, laminate, or receive laser or chemical treatments on the area for at least 7 days
• Arrive with clean skin and no makeup on the treatment area
Important Notes
• If you have had previous permanent makeup, please disclose this prior to your appointment
• Certain medical conditions, medications, or skin treatments may affect eligibility or results
• If you have prior PMU in the desired treatment area OR are seeing paramedical services, a consultation is required to confirm candidacy and set realistic expectations
Failure to follow preparation guidelines may impact results and could require rescheduling.
By attending your appointment, you acknowledge that you have reviewed and followed all preparation instructions.
Contraindications for Permanent Make Up
If you have any of the following, permanent make up is not for you. We deeply care about your health, results and desired aesthetic. We will not work with anyone currently experiencing any of the following:
Under the age of 18
Pregnant or nursing
Sick (cold, flu. etc.,)
Undergoing chemotherapy
Viral or other infectious disease
Take blood thinning medications, have blood clotting issues, bleed easily, hemophiliacs
Uncontrolled diabetes or high blood pressure
Skin irritation / conditions at/near treatment site (Eczema, psoriasis, rashes, acne)
Hypersensitive skin
Extremely thin skin
Rosacea or capillaries at or near treatment site
Autoimmune disorders: Lupus, RA, MS, Celiac disease, diabetes type 1, Vasculitis (varies by client - consultation required. May require physicians clearance)
Retin-A use within the last 6 months
Use of steroids that thin or oversensitize the skin (topical steroids thin the skin and may cause it to be too fragile for tattooing. Get clearance from your artist prior to your appointment.)
Microblading has additional considerations and we will NOT perform microblading on:
Sensitive skin
Oily skin
Sun damaged skin (this also applies to shading and combo brows)
Inflamed skin or skin with acne in or around procedure site (this also applies to shading and combo brows)
Thin skin
Asymmetrical brows
Coarse hair
Major shape changes
